The problem
Yauty is the backoffice where workshops, dealerships and fleet managers handle all vehicle activity within the CAR suite — and the platform set to replace CAR as the main brand in the near future.
The original interface was basic and flat, with very little information density per vehicle (a simple list of “actions” with no photos or context) and no way to adapt to each client’s identity. The business challenge was clear: sell this new platform to a major client capable of validating it at scale, and the existing interface didn’t convey the solidity needed to close that kind of enterprise deal.
The process
I led the full redesign over 4 months, coordinating with Marketing, Development and Leadership, proposing new navigation, menus and animations with the goal of building a minimal interface that communicated a lot of information without feeling cluttered.
From flat list to data-rich backoffice. The previous version displayed each repair as plain text, with no photos or timeline. I redesigned it completely: each vehicle record now includes a media gallery (photos, videos, audio, PDF), a visual timeline of the repair status, and contact details — all in a single view, bringing directly into Yauty information that previously forced users to switch over to the main SaaS.
A real white-label system. The previous version was a single generic interface, with no client-specific identity. I defined a neutral, interchangeable color architecture: each brand (Northgate, IVECO, SEAT) applies its own primary and secondary color as an accent over a clean, consistent base, with shared structure and iconography. I specified the system to development, who implemented it through client-configurable color tokens.
Iterative enrichment. After launch, as major clients like Northgate and IVECO started using the product to manage their fleets, we progressively added more data and functionality to meet their real-world needs.
Responsive system and mentoring. I led the full responsive design, adapted across all devices, and mentored junior designers on this part of the project. A component library with micro-interactions and animations was also introduced.
The result
The redesign helped close the sale that motivated the project: Northgate and IVECO acquired Yauty to manage their entire vehicle fleets, validating that the new interface conveyed the solidity enterprise clients needed.
The white-label system now allows each client brand to run its own version of Yauty without developing or maintaining separate products — a scalable design foundation built to support Yauty’s future growth as the suite’s main brand.
